MiP: ‘OUR HEART IS BROKEN’

MEMPHIS T.N.-  President Donald Trump’s administration has decided to rescind Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), with a six-month delay in order for Congress to act, according to POLITICO.

“Our Heart is broken for the 800,000 plus young DACA recipients, of which 2,000 plus live in Memphis, Tennessee. These young DACA recipients bring great determination and accomplishments, further making the United States a better and more vibrant country. Not only that, but they are a part of our churches bringing a faith in Jesus that is refreshing and needed today. Therefore, even though Memphis immigration Project is saddened by President Trump’s decision, we believe there is hope in the next six months for a law like the Dream Act of 2017 to be passed by Congress that protects DACA Recipients because we believe these young people deserve to be protected and viewed as people to love, not problems to solve.”

Sincerely,

Rondell Treviño, Founder & President, Memphis immigration Project

Tim Jewett, Director of Immigration Strategies, Memphis immigration Project
